Cabin Escape

Cabin Escape

last night i took the stars and the rain drops

that fell during the storm

i collected them in baskets, tee shirt hems and the rolls of my shorts.

i encrusted my lungs with rain, i lit up my eyes with stars and breathed

today the city hums and i am still miles away

listening to borrowed music, drinking wine like water

and my skin was wrapped up in night air.
