stolen days on beaches; borrowed sun hats
drinking rum and coke out of thermoses
neighborhood walks with the dog and playing catch with my boyfriend on the lawn
rainy nights curled up on couches, watching movies and t.v.
pedicures and manicures with sisters, nights at tables with friends in mellow pubs
i did not get the jobs i had hoped for. i slept in.
i laid in bed with my cat and the alarm turned off and greeted the afternoon
i did yoga outside, i sat at bonfires with family and i called my Dad a lot
this was my summer. and i loved every minute of it. and i didn’t fret too often and i didn’t lose grasp on the present as i dreamed about the future.
no. this summer was all mine.
